The Best Day of My Life

So my english teacher asked us to do an essay based on this title she gave,
"The Best Day of My Life". I want to know whether this is good enough for now..
Do give feedback.

The Best Day of My Life by Mizan Ahmad

I woke up with a warm feeling in my heart. The day had never been this beautiful before. The morning breeze blew in from a window that was left ajar and there I saw the love of my life sleeping soundly in his plain white t-shirt beside me. My blood rushed to my cheeks as I stared at my finger realizing that the one and only fairy tale I’ve been dreaming of had come true. A grin formed on my face as I reminisced what happened the day before.
“Today is the day”, I mumbled. I felt this sensation as if there were butterflies in my stomach. I looked at my reflection in the mirror that was as tall as I am, I barely recognized who I was looking at. “Who is this tall and fair looking lady wearing this beautiful dress in white ?”, I asked myself. I twirled around the small platform to search for any defects of the dress. The feeling of insecurity surrounded me as I rushed to the thought of not being perfect for this one special event of my life. The smell of freshly baked cupcakes filled the room as my mother came in with a smile on her face.

“My beautiful daughter”, she grinned.

“Uhm, mom ? How was it when you married dad ? I’m eager to know.”, I stuttered.

“It was the most beautiful day I’ve ever had other than the day where I hold you in my arms for the first time of course.”, she giggled.

“Look at you now, all grown up. I never thought it would be this fast. I barely took my eyes off of you and here you are now in your wedding dress.”

“I’m unsure of this. Mum ? Can someone take my place walking down the aisle instead ?”, I said jokingly.

“Nonsense ! You’re perfect. You’ve become a beautiful and brave woman. Don’t say such nonsense !”

I was well prepared for this day. I was certain…

I heard a voice calling my name to come out. I took a deep breath and started stepping towards the door. Everyone gasped in awe as I walked down the aisle accompanied by my father. There, I saw, the guy who was standing right ahead with his sleek black suit and his brunette hair brushed back. He was perfect. At that moment, I was sure enough, this is the guy I’m going to spend my whole life with. The autumn leaves blew at the right moment just as my dad moved my hand from his to my future husband’s as a sign of consent. He embraced me wholeheartedly. I couldn’t help it but to grin as I looked straight into his glowing blue eyes, the reason why I fell for him in the first place. He smiled back anxiously as he held my hands and vowed to be mine and only mine until death do us part. I could feel his hands shaking but as he stood there and said “I do”, it stopped. He pulled me in his arms and kissed me. My heart was about to burst and tears shed as the moment was too perfect for me. “You’re mine, now and then, present and future, I’ll be yours and you’ll be mine. I promise.”. He ended that sentence with a kiss on my forehead and wiped away my tears with his right hand.

We danced all night after the wedding and stargazed under the moonlight. He brought me in and I fell asleep in his arms. It was perfect. It was indeed the best day of my life.
